Vaughn Medford

I've been the manager at Sacramento Pipeworks since 2001. I have been climbing for 21 years, and find that Yosemite big-walls are my favorite. I've lived in downtown Sacramento for over 25 years and have traveled extensively in the USA, Mexico, Central America, South America, India and Nepal.

I joined Touchstone in 2007 in order to feed my climbing addiction. I hold an AA in theology and a BS in geology, but one day hope to become a stone master. When not climbing the glorious walls inside a Touchstone gym, you can find me mountaineering, dancing ballet, completing triathlons or training for more climbing.

Mr. Jason Bove was born Jason Bove, in the gorgeous midwest sector of the United States. He has presently found an even more pristine setting on the West side to reside. Joining the Touchstone family in 2006, Jason Bove may now be your neighbor and friend.

I have been climbing on and off for about 4 years, and joined the Touchstone team in June of 2012. I am studying to be a Massage Therapist and hope to continue my education after I am certified in September. I love being outside, being with friends, and doing crafts. I love experiencing life to the fullest and love meeting new people

To start off, I would like to say when I was a kid I promised myself that I would be Superman, a pirate, Bruce Wayne, and a firefighter when I grew up.  I don’t plan on backing out of that promise.  I would also like to say that when I was 3 I made my first million and when I was 10 I owned an empire of businesses, so I will.  You can mostly find me in the gym working or in the gym climbing or just in the gym.  Right now climbing is my life and I just want to climb everything!

I am a Sacramento native. My first climbing experience was at Pipeworks at the age of nine. Today, twelve years later, I find myself working here and introducing others to a lifestyle I so enjoy. I'm currently working towards transferring to UC Berkeley in pursuit of a degree in Peace and Conflict Studies. I'm passionate about pizza, spending time with loved ones, and traveling the world.

I grew up all over the country, but California has been my home for the longest. I served for 6 years with the US Coast Guard and began climbing here at Pipeworks in 2008 shortly after I moved back to Sac. I started working at the gym in 2011 leading the kids summer camp program and that experience ignited my passion for education. I am currently studying to become a teacher.
