ICE CLIMBING AROUND LAKE TAHOE

Postby icemonkey » Tue Dec 26, 2006 12:06 pm

Hi folks,

Anyone got any beta on ice climbing and conditions around lake tahoe area. Places like Eagle Lake, Cascade Falls, Rainbow, Donner Summit etc. Or any other little spots with relatively easily accessible watefall ice on the west side of the sierras. Anything up to WI 3/4-. No need to be long multi pitch either Just fun places to brush up technique etc. Anything near Bear Valley??

cheers.

Tahoe Ice Climbing

Ah--good question! Ice climbing conditions are not as easy to find as snow conditions. You can try Sierra Mountain Guides - that's the best site I've found for current climbing conditions in Tahoe as well as other good climbing areas in the Sierras.
