On March 1st, MetalMark held the first Touchstone Wine tasting. Over 50 members headed to the Fresno gym to taste wines from Ceja Vineyard, a Napa Valley Winery, and Englemann Cellars, a local Fresno Winery.
The Chardonnays, Merlots, Cabs, and other wines were paired with an assortment of chocolate truffles, cheeses and crackers.
"I wanted to do something different from anything else we've done here," said Marie Garringer, MetalMark's manager. The members appreciated the chance to enjoy each other's company in a relaxed setting as they tasted the fine wines and learned about the different grapes from the vintners.
Bret Englemann, the owner and head vintner of Englemann's Cellars, poured five different types of wine and educated those on the grapes. Belen Ceja, a MetalMark member from Ceja Vineyards, poured a Sauvignon Blanc and their house red wine, Vino de Casa.
The wine tasting allowed the members a great opportunity to hang out, enjoy the wines and mingle together. It was well received and Marie already looking to host another wine tasting.
